Dignified, professional transportation for the person who has died – locally, across the UK and internationally.
BM Funeral Service’s transportation service is shaped by our ambulance and healthcare background. Our crews are accustomed to careful handling, privacy, documentation and working in sensitive circumstances where people and families depend on us to get the details right.
Road transportation across the UK
We can transfer your loved one to another funeral provider, mortuary, crematorium, airport or other agreed destination.
Road transfer mileage is charged at £2.00 per mile. If a transfer requires additional staffing, specialist equipment, waiting time, ferry, toll, parking or other third-party costs, we will explain those before the service is agreed wherever practicable.
International repatriation
BM can help arrange the transportation of a person who has died to or from another country. International repatriation can involve documentation, liaison with authorities and funeral providers, suitable transport arrangements and coordination with airlines or specialist carriers.
Every international case is different, so we provide an individual quotation once we know the country, destination, documentation position and practical transport requirements.
Air transportation and private aircraft repatriation
Where appropriate, we can arrange or support transportation by air. This may involve commercial air freight or, for families who require a more private and flexible option, dedicated private aircraft.
Private aircraft deceased repatriation is a specialist service and is individually priced because aircraft costs, routing, airports, documentation, handling requirements, ground transfers and third-party charges vary considerably.

Specialist and bariatric transport
BM also provides specialist transportation for larger deceased persons and complex removals. These cases may require additional staff, equipment and access planning before attendance.

Continuity of care
Transportation is not simply about getting from one place to another. We focus on dignity, identification, documentation and a clear handover so families and receiving professionals understand who is responsible for the person at each stage.
Where practical, BM crews remain directly involved throughout the road transfer rather than passing responsibility between multiple providers.
Ask us about a transfer
You do not need to know every detail before calling. Tell us where your loved one is, where they need to go and what you know about the circumstances. We can explain what information or documentation is needed and provide a quotation.
