Some families need services beyond our standard direct cremation arrangements. This page explains the additional options BM Funeral Service can provide and how they are priced.
Additional transportation
Road transfer: £2.00 per mile.
We can transfer the person who has died to another funeral provider, mortuary, crematorium, airport or other agreed destination. Where a transfer requires additional staff, specialist equipment, waiting time, ferry, toll, parking or other third-party costs, these will be explained and agreed before the service is carried out wherever practicable.
International and air transportation
Individually quoted.
BM can arrange or support transportation within the UK and internationally, including air transportation where appropriate. The price depends on the destination, routing, documentation, airline or specialist transport costs, coffin or container requirements and any third-party charges. A written quotation will be provided once the requirements are known.
Ashes delivery
Within 25 miles of our Charing base: included if requested.
Delivery beyond 25 miles can be arranged. The charge depends on distance and will be confirmed before delivery is booked. Where practical, one of our own crews may make the delivery so the ashes remain in BM’s care until they are handed to the family.
Bariatric deceased care
Collection from £600.
Bariatric and complex removals are assessed individually. The final price can vary because of access, estimated weight and measurements, staffing, specialist equipment, distance, time required, destination and any additional resources needed to complete the transfer safely and respectfully.
Mortuary care and specialist storage
Individually quoted.
The charge depends on the care required, duration, specialist handling needs and whether additional transportation or other services are involved. We will explain the price before accepting the arrangement wherever the circumstances allow.
Out-of-hours services
Price confirmed before booking.
Additional charges may apply depending on the time, day and whether a Bank Holiday is involved.
Embalming
Not offered.
